tremenheere

Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens are situated on the sunny slopes behind Penzance and overlook St Michael’s Mount and Mount’s bay. A deep ferny forest rises to steep well-groomed lawns and boasts a beautiful array of Cornish sub-tropical plants as well as an impressive collection of sculptures, including work by James Turrell, David Nash and Richard Long. I spent an autumnal weekend in the gardens, exploring the art in context and recording some of the plant and wildlife I saw in typically Cornish damp mists and sparkling sunshine. It has inspired a series of etchings.
